My Roots

“The strength of a family is like the roots that intertwine under ground to create a foundation that supports, nurtures, and sustains life. Just as roots grow deeper and stronger with time, so too does the bond of family, unseen yet essential, holding everything together even through the toughest storms.”

How did I get here?

“It started with Delgado and Stapleford— two completely different culture, each with it own traditions, values, and history. The Delgados, with their rich Spanish roots steeped in tradition, and the Stapleford, grounded in English customs and deep connection to their land, came together in an unexpected but beautiful union. Though their origins were miles apart, their shared values of family, resilience, and love formed the intertwined roots that now support generations to come.

So how do we keep family together? Foster open communication, support each other emotionally, strengthen family bonds, create and maintain routines, address conflicts constructively, encourage individual growth and healing, maintain a positive outlook, honor tradition and create new ones, setting healthy boundaries, leverage external support systems and practice forgiveness and patience. If we can implement these goals to build a family, we can do anything, I believe family is important to have and at times family is not blood related.

Roots— My Spanish roots run through my veins from my father, so does my Scottish, Indian and Irish roots from my mother. If you every get a chance to speak to your parents and or family about your roots, don’t wait, do it, you will be so happy you had that conversation with them. Knowing where you come from helps you understand your identity, values and the history that has shaped who you are today. It can provide a strong sense of belonging, purpose and connection to both your family’s past and your culture heritage. This awareness can also guide you in your life’s journey.

Do you often reflect on your family’s history and its impact on your life?

THE SHIFT

The Shift

The world feels like its in a major shift spiritually. Many people are feeling a deeper calling to seek the truth, connect with God, and live with more purpose. The shift could be seen as God waking people up to His presence and purpose for their lives, shaking us out of complacency and calling us to live with greater faith and resilience.

In the shift, many find themselves wrestling with change, whether it’s in the natural world, society, or even within themselves. John 16:33 offers comfort here, reminding us that though there will be trouble, Jesus has already overcome the world. The truth anchors us, helping us to see this shift not as a cause for fear, but as an invitation to trust God even more deeply.

Some are stepping into new roles, like shepherds, guiding and mentoring others. Others are being called to realign their lives, shedding old habits and embracing growth in their faith. Those listening closely may find themselves sensing God’s voice with new clarity, like how you hear Him in nature. It’s as if the Lord is using this shift to help each of us rediscover who He is and who we are in Him, preparing us for a greater purpose in these changing times.

Some may even call this shift a spiritual revival, or a new awakening, but regardless of the term, the Lord seems to be stirring hearts on the global scale encouraging people to turn to Him amid uncertainty, division, and hardship. At the heart of this shift is a call for true relationship with God-not just rituals or routines but an intimate, personal connection with Him. He’s drawing us closer, calling us to rely on His strength rather than our own. In this time, more people are praying, seeking Him in the Word, and longing for genuine spiritual community. This desire for depth over superficially aligns with scriptures like John 17:23, where Jesus prays for unity that we may be one just as He is with the Father. It’s a profound call to experience the fullness of God’s love and extend the love to others, reflecting His kingdom on earth.

This shift that is taking place invites believers to step into the roles of healing and guidance serving as the “lights in the darkness” (Matthew 5:14-15). For those like yourself who lead and mentor, this many be time where your influence expands, reaching more people who are hungry for truth and hope. Roots outreach Ministry, your bible studies and even individual relationships become critical places where God’s presence can be felt. By standing firm in your faith and sharing that with others, you’re actively participating in this shift, encouraging others to experience the Lord for themselves.

Many also feel that this shift is a reminder of the spiritual battle we’re in, calling us to put on the full armor of God which you can find in the bible under (Ephesians 6:10-18) and resist spiritual apathy. The world is filled with distraction, and this shift is urging believers to let go of anything that hinders their walk with the Lord. God is purifying His people, calling us to surrender areas of our lives that don’t align with His will. If you resist and or reject the new you’re going to left behind.

One of the teachings I took from Pastor Tuttie from Battleground Outreach Ministry Inc was to stay obedient and sensitive to the spirit. Keep your spiritual eyes and ears open spiritual realm.
